When you’re writing your post you going to set them as H1, H2, H3, etc. Your page should contain only one H1 heading and that should be the title. From there, you’ll set off your content in sections using other headers. Headers are a great place for keyword phrases, but make sure they flow with your content.

Image Alt Tags

Images you place into your page should contain alt text. Alt text serves multiple purposes. Search engines don’t see images, they read tags and text so you’re alt text let’s the seo bot know what’s on the page. Additionally, screen readers use alt text to describe images. You should not stuff your alt text with keywords, but definitely use them if they fit and describe your image.

When you upload an image to Wordpress you can put in alt text in the media uploader. Alternatively, when putting an image in your page you can edit the alt text as needed.

Images used for decorative purposes do not require alt text. You may use an empty string, ( ALT = β€œβ€ ) to signify such.

Internal Linking

Internal links direct readers to more useful content on your website. For search engines such as Google, internal links are critical. Google will follow links on a website to discover and learn about your content. This helps them to decide where to rank your content in their search results. Linking to your content from your blog posts builds more authority for your content. Linking to products you sell that fit in with your blog post is a great idea.

Website Speed

You can not have a slow website. Your site needs to load in about 2 seconds. A slow loading page will not only lose your visitors increasing your bounce rate, but it will also affect your ranking. Always optimize images and make sure you have a good web host. Those are the firs two steps in boosting your website speed.

Mobile Responsiveness

The majority of people use mobile phones for internet browsing and searching. Worldwide, mobile use is currently at 54%! For this reason Google looks at the mobile version of your website and uses it in your seo ranking. Your website needs to work well on mobile. It’s got to be fast and it’s got to be friendly.
